We at GEI have, at one time or another, been involved in a host of elevator scenarios, ranging from repair to maintenance to modification. We share common ground and we relate our past experiences with your current needs. Are you certified to perform elevator safety testing? At Gotham all of our inspectors are certified by the NYCDOB and they are QEI certified. We perform annual inspections as well as 2-year (currently a NYC requirement) and 5-year testing of the elevator safety system. Are you sufficiently staffed to perform inspections? With the demand for performing quality preventive maintenance and responding to reported elevator outages, do you have the time to schedule your annual inspections and safety testing for the elevators for which you are responsible? At Gotham we will file all of the pertinent documentation with the local jurisdictions upon the completion of the assignment. Avoid the suspicion of impropriety. Is it really in your best interest to inspect the same elevators you maintain? Or, is it more beneficial to have an independent third party perform your inspections and witness your safety testing?
